We have been having so much fun visiting the American grandparents and extended family in North Carolina. Today the children tried Mexican food for the first time.
I had to teach Juliet how to eat a taco from the side, which she found to be great fun. William, however, decided he didn’t like tacos at all, and filled up on the free nacho chips instead. Chips and chips and chips. Yum.
Then we went to the playground, and Uncle Jeff was kind enough to spin them around on the tire swing. Spin and Spin and Spin.
(PS I’m sorry).

I know! I can’t wait to check up on your news. I was especially thinking of you while we were in VA wondering how the move was going.

Tacos ARE messy. I usually fill up on the chips too. Was the Mexican dinner before the tire swing? I hope not!

I will admit that my Texan heart is a little sad that this was the first time your kids have had a taco. They need to come visit me!

I LOVE Mexican food. I was disappointed because this one didn’t have cheddar cheese – it had mozzarella, so it wasn’t as good. But yeah, it’s hard to go without it.

Awww, you’re in NC. That’s so close to us (SC!) I love tire swings. We just had a similar experience on the tire swings last week!
I always love introducing my French and German friends to Mexican food!! 🙂

You’re in SC? My mom is near Charleston, but she came up to NC instead of us going down there where it’s HOT.

Aww, tire swings are the best!
No Mexican food at all in Paris? I know people who take tortillas back on the plane after they’ve been here.

I refuse to watch that – looking at the still shot makes me a little dizzy! But I’m thrilled you’re having a great trip.

Oh, no. I have the feeling this will be the last Mexican food he eats. For a while, anyway.

I did come back (because at the end of the day I can ALWAYS find time for you) and it WAS worth it.
“Jennie?”
Oh my.
Would you believe I’m making tacos for dinner tonight?
Long live taco Tuesday.
Just stay off the tire swing on those days, too.

Having grown up with Mexican food as a huge part of my childhood – we ate a lot of hamburger meat and my mom made tacos every week using El Paso kits and I ate a ton of Taco Bell, it is so fun to imagine you teaching your daughter how to eat a taco!

I do love Mexican food. You can get el paso kits here too, but I always see wheat on the ingredients list so I don’t do it. For all I know, the restaurant we went to had them as well. I wish I knew how to make my own corn tortillas.
Arnebya says
I figured I knew how it ended and maybe I didn’t want to see the chips, um, fall. It’s ok; I am sitting with you on a tire swing in my head enjoying the breeze. I hear kids laughing, see them running, breezing by so quickly I can’t see their faces, just their smiles and hair extending behind them.
