Ingredients
  • 8 apples
  • 2.5 c sugar
  • 2 t lemon juice
  • 6 T water
  • 10-20 drops red food colouring
  • 8 wooden sticks
Instructions
  1. Wash and dry thoroughly the apples. Prepare buttered wax paper on baking sheet.
  2. Combine ingredients, except for the remaining 2 t lemon juice.
  3. Stir, then put the heat on high. When it starts to bubble, reduce to low.
  4. Cook for about 20 minutes, but keeping constant watch. 150°C or 300°F
  5. When it starts to caramelise, remove from heat and add the remaining lemon juice.
  6. Dip apples in mixture and place on wax paper to cool.
