So much to say, so much to do,
I’m not just here, I’m over here too.
There are parties going on all over the place to escape this dreary weather.
I’m hosting a baby shower for my friend Sabrina next week who is expecting twins. She does not know what fun she’s in for, as any type of shower (baby or wedding) is not a french concept. She actually asked if she was going to get wet.
At first she was worried that there might be too many friends coming, but I said that I didn’t care if twenty extra people showed up at the last minute. She told me not to say that to an African or the whole village might show up, but I insisted that I really didn’t care and taught her the expression, “the more, the merrier.” I even said that the more people that come, the more presents she’ll get. Right? Right?
She laughed and called me a capitalist.
I’m also partying over at Amber Page Writes. Well … guest posting actually, and my post is called, « The Enormity of Leading a Significant Life. » This is not, actually, a party-type woot-woot theme. More like lunching with Hemmingway and Joyce in a French bistro discussing existential ideas. (Did you see how I did that? Put myself right up there with the great writers?)
If you haven’t visited her yet, you can get to know her over her posts, such as Kids – Are They Worth It? or Let’s Protect the Little Geeks. She’s my buddy in geekdom. And in case you missed it, you can get there by clicking here.
We also went to this little guy’s birthday party yesterday and had loads of fun.
He even let Petit Prince blow out the candle too, just for fun, which totally made his day
until he realized there were no presents.
Hope to see you at Amber’s. No RSVP necessary.

Oh, that last picture is priceless. Simply priceless.
Well then, if the French are not familiar with our shower custom, then you must play some cheesy shower games to go along with it. That should confirm that we Americans are truly a wacky bunch.

You capitalist, you! I love it. Have fun at the shower. (And poor Petit Prince! That look breaks my heart and makes me smile, all at the same time.)

Oh, the sheer power of emotions at that age. They just can’t hold it in. On my way to Amber’s…can’t wait!

You’re a party animal! Off to check out your (first??) guest post…

Make sure you do the “baby food tasting” game for the shower. That should rock the socks off those people.
