I anticipate Spring.
I anticipate that this
will become this.
I anticipate seeing tiny buds on the plum tree, which will bring me sweet juicy green plums at the end of the summer.
I anticipate the roses over the well to bloom, and the apricot tree behind it to be filled with cheerful blossoms, then bright orange fruit.
I anticipate that the tilleul tree, which was so severely trimmed in the Fall, will once again harbor a dense canopy of leaves.
See the tiny shoots coming out of the branches? They weren’t there before.
I anticipate the Prunus tree to secret away our kitchen window in its profusion of pink blossoms.
I shot every one of these pictures from indoors because it’s raining (except Sir shot this last).
I anticipate sun.
I anticipate warmth so that Petit Prince’s penchant for running around half naked will not make me start to sneeze.
I anticipate that he will potty train himself over night.
(While we’re at this business of anticipation).
P.S. Did you all see my giveaway for French chocolates in my last post? I mean, the less people who comment, the greater the chance for those who have already entered. I like all those people and would be happy for one of them to win, so no pressure or anything. But if you want to win too, you have to leave a comment. Pronto. Contest ends by tomorrow morning my time when I’m going to wake up with baited breath to see who has the golden ticket. And who’s going to turn into a blueberry.
(Willy Wonka still traumatizes me; I get shivers when I think about licking walls).
P.P.S. My hands hurt. I have carpal tunnel, I think, and I need to see a doctor about it because sometimes I have trouble holding things. So I might not comment as often, but it doesn’t mean I’m not reading your blogs (and comments). Scout’s honor.

Beautiful pictures! We had such wonderful weather here in late January, almost spring like. Then came the rain again and this morning a dusting of snow on the hills above us. I’d enter your chocolate give-a-way, but I don’t think I live anywhere near where you said you had to be to get it.

I love all your through the window shots. Brilliant.
Good luck with that overnight potty training thing. It didn’t happen at my house, but there is always a first, right?
I remember in the book that they said that lickable wallpaper would be good for nurserys and daycares. Gross much? All those kids licking the same walls over and over again. yuck.

Those are lovely photos Lady Jennie. I can imagine how pretty all those will look when they are in full bloom. A good time to visit France then?
Sorry no chocolate for me – the only country in Asia they deliver to is Japan. 🙁
Carpel tunnel can be painful – so sorry to hear that. My right wrist is swollen and painful – I’m not sure if it’s ct or arthritis or gout. Take care.

I love spring too–it may be my favorite season.
Sorry about your hands–hope it’s nothing serious.

There aren’t many states more delightful to me than that of anticipation. I only really worry about myself when I can’t feel hopeful about anything.
Hope your hands are feeling better.
