It seemed fitting to start linking up with the Wordless Wednesday posts, considering that mine seem to be getting less and less wordy. While I don’t think I’ll run out of things to say any time soon, sometimes it’s nice to just quietly observe.
This lazy morning photo (no school on Wednesdays in France) of Young Lady waiting to leave for la danse is not particularly artistic, but it tells its own story of childhood simplicity. Snow is falling softly outside as I write this, and looking at this picture makes me feel … cold.
But see there I go. Words!

She is so lovely…but, then, since I had three sons, all girl children look beautiful to me. I just heard, on Thanksgiving, that I am to become a grandmother for the first time. I am so hoping that I am suprised, in July, with a granddaughter.

Take heart! My husband was the first of five boys, no girls. Three of his brothers had a son. And then finally … Young Lady was born. Congratulations Grandma! 🙂

My eldest is une danseuse also. If she had her way, she would wear leotards and tutus everywhere. And, okay, a lot of the time she does!

So precious. Does she want to be a ballerina?
I love taking my stepdaughter to the ballet.

My house has been strewn with leotards, tights, bobby-pins and glitter for the last 15 years…and I love every minute of it! I miss watching my oldest daughter dance. She has such grace and emotion. When she was onstage I would forget to breathe, and couldn’t pull my eyes off her. I hope someday she realizes how much she misses it and returns to her toe-shoes! My tiny dancer is in her 6th year, and is a true entertainer at heart. She lives to dance, and tumble/cheer, and that little stinker has Abs you would not believe. (Completely wasted on a 10 year old! Haha)
PS…dancers work hard and sweat and smell gross…but nothing says nasty like old damp hockey gear! But then…I love being a hockey mom too!

Ah, the waiting before the event . . . something I remember oh so well from childhood. I love how you captured this lazy morning moment.

Oh how sweet, I wish I could have done dance as a child, not really the done thing for boys though…

What an adorable photo! My little girl just turned 20 so I miss driving her to dance class.

Your blog has just blossomed.
I feel like I can breathe slow and deep when I stop over here.
Thank you for that.

Having raised 3 sons, my first grand-daughter, born last March is a treasure. I can’t wait to experience the bows, tights and glitter!

Oh yes! My mother-in-law goes crazy with her three granddaughters. Have fun! 🙂
