Somebody turned seven this week.
Somebody found all her presents hidden in the chimney.
Somebody didn’t appreciate the turn of events (that is, somebody else getting all the presents).
(Somebody is handsome when he broods though. Shall we say the future Edward the vampire? Or … whatever the next craze will be?)
Somebody gave us a cherry tree to grace the dry savannah where there’s been no rain – for weeks.
She said it was on its last legs sitting on her balcony …
Indeed.
However somebody shows promise when drenched with buckets of water.
Little somebodies are very hard to take seriously with all their pudgy, chocolatey, runny nose cuteness. You want to ignore everything they say and nestle into their necks and breathe their slightly sweaty adorably sweet smell.
And somebody is helping us combat the long dry spell (and the 200€ a month water bills) by enabling us to use our well to water the garden.
He is kindly digging us a trench to install pipes that will bring the water from the well
over to the grass (and the thyme and the flowers).
It’s been quite a dry spell, for my flowers and for my blogging. But now there is a fresh source.
Well, well – it’s about thyme.

Presents in the chimney? How cool! I LOVE the shots of “somebody” and “Edward the Vampire”. Good luck with the cherry tree.

Oh, your children even look French!
Your photos are a story on their own.
Thank you for the beauty here.

Oh how perfect. Happy Birthday to your Big Girl, she looks pretty chuffed with it all. Mr Brooding will have to get over it because he is just TOO handsome for words and that will be his blessing.
And Mr Runny Nose/Chocolate face is scrumptious. I have two boys (5 and 4) and sometimes I just sniff their necks for that boy/sweaty/sweet/sun protection cream smell of them.
We have a well too. But I’ve had to have to locked as the drop is a terrifying 15metres down to the water level. No small boy is ever coming out of there alive if they fall in. I’m sure a hosepipe ban is coming for the UK. It’s been so, so dry here for weeks. Most unusual!
Loved this post.

Goodness gracious.
Simply lovely in every way.
(I think that tree is going to be my metaphor for the day. And the faces of your children? Delicious.)
