Look at Young Knight, dressed for his day at school, just like in the olden days. Journée à l’ancienne, it’s called. They wear their French caps, navy shorts, button down shirts, dark loafers and knee socks. Doesn’t he look winsome?
He said it was the worst day of his entire life. Apparently you got scolded for yawning, and you had to stand in the corner and wear the dunce cap if you talked out of turn.
I laughed with his teacher afterwards, and she said that even she had trouble keeping it up, but she hoped it would help them appreciate what they had in these modern times.
The thing Young Knight is most excited about in modern times is these pokeyman cards.
He used his allowance and tooth money to get a set, and he’s already thinking about the next set he can get.
He could barely draw his attention away from playing in order for me to tell him about this giveaway I needed him for. You know – this one?
The Novica giveaway?
Renée wins!!! (I put the accent in your name, just as if you lived in France). But it’s you, Renée of the “fatty bumpkins” e-mail. The nickname is so cute, I might add. Winsome, even.
Even though I have your e-mail address, could you send me an e-mail so I can respond to it with the winning code? (aladyinfrance@gmail.com) I don’t want to send it to the wrong person. Congratulations!

Oh how absolutley adorable:) I do wish they did something like this in Canada. It would perhaps help my girls realize how lucky they truly are!

He’s the definition of winsome. Love. I now want to lobby for an 18th century day at our elementary.

So cute.
Scolded for yawning? I would have never made it in ancien times. 🙂

Oh my goodness, I can’t stand the hat. I can’t imagine my kids in this stage – the interaction you have together in this post is priceless. (And something to look forward to when your conversations are one sided toddler chat all day 🙂 )

By “can’t stand” you mean “cute” right? 😉

You were a super cool teacher. I would have been all over that in high school.
