A day in May should be all about enjoying the garden.
The garden containing plants and trees that have been well-watered by April rains.
This is not the case. It’s a dust bowl over here.
However, two of my irises bloomed for the first time EVER this morning. Recognize the form? It’s a fleur de lys, the symbol of my blog (and dozens of others – shout out!).
Sigh. Such magnificent, noble beauty.
(If you like that sort of thing).
And my grapes are budding.
Aaaawwwww. Cute. Have you every seen such a miniscule cluster of grapes?
And the apricots
And the apples
Okay, okay, let me slow down here. Already the strawberries are ripening almost too fast for us to eat. (Almost. Where’s the whipped cream???)
And here is someone else enjoying the garden with his friends.
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? (Is it a Petit Prince?)
No. It’s a dragon.

JEALOUS of your fruit in your gorgeous garden! Incredible photos, too. Send me some strawberries? They’re my fave! Happy Mother’s Day weekend!

Erin, I totally thought of you with the fleur de lys. And Happy Mom’s Day, to you as well Momma! Hope you’re feeling fit as a fiddle (and not fit as a waddle).

Hope you get some rain soon! We’re supposed to get some on Tuesday. Here’s to hoping!

What an odd year – we’ve had SO MUCH RAIN!!! We’ve set records and flooded towns away. Crazy.
Beautiful pics (as always!) I LOVE irises! Especially the burgandyish-yellow one. When I first started painting (high school) I painted an iris just like that. I still have the painting 😀
Happy Mother’s Day ! I wish I was relaxing in my garden in France, rather than slopping through my mud pit that’s too wet to plant anything.
Hugs
xoxo

I am fast losing my dragon in my garden.

Sometimes, I dream about what life COULD be like if I wasn’t living in a smog-infested city with 3 square feet of backyard space. I come here. And I know. Thanks for letting me breath in the fantasy for a minute.

Your irises are beautiful! And was that Coral Bells I saw blooming? And of course, Petit Prince is the crowning jewel.
The Flying Chalupa says
Apricots! How exciting! And strawberries – I’ll be right over. Love the pics of the kids in the garden. I mean, dragon(s?) in the garden.

Rained pretty much every day in April here. Too bad my garden isn’t too much to speak of. Your garden looks like a beautiful, hopeful place — perfect for tending dragons.
Hope your Mother’s Day was lovely.

Lady Jennie, you really are just too cool for words. I love this blog . . . so much. Hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day, my friend.

All the rain seems to be in the U.S. The Mississippi River is cresting in many places. Hopefully you have rain by the time you read this.
Great photos and Le Petit Prince is adorable as always!

The perfect garden, indeed.
Delicious all.
