Fling off thy sadness!
Fair vernal flowers, laugh forth
Your ancient gladness!
(~Thomas Blackburn, “An Easter Hymn”)
Guess who else is digging Spring?
A Young Lady who’s birthday falls not long after Easter!
So we celebrated in true Spring style
and Petit Princes who wanted to arrange things just so
Sir (fresh off the plane from New York) sits the children in a circle on the grass and asks them, “What’s more important? The treasure or the hunt?”
“The huuuuuunt!” they all yell running off for the first clue.
To those Spring hearts who laugh forth their ancient gladness.
this post made me all sorts of happy.
Beautiful. This post made me smile. 🙂
True joy! Happiest of birthdays to her!
Such joy! I love all the colors, they made me happy. Glad your gorgeous girl had a wonderful birthday!
So many smiles over this post! And yes, Spring birthdays are wonderful 🙂
Such joy!! Happy birthday to your baby…..enjoy the sunshine!
Love the beautiful decor and the cake decorating…did you do that? So impressed!
I did do that. So proud of myself. 🙂
Beautiful shots & Happy Birthday!
So fun! Those cupcakes look amazing!
Thanks Amanda! (Tip on my Pinterest board “Sweet Treats” – they’re called “hydrangea cupcakes”).
so lovely…seems to me that all that construction mess was worth it, if these pictures are any indication. happy spring… I’m tempted to quote ee cummings back at you, but will resist.
okay, wait. I just re-looked at those cupcakes. you MADE those? I bow down before ye… and of course you meant for them to look like spring geraniums or hydrangeas? wow. you french (or french-affiliates) really are a breed apart : )
I did! They are hydrangea cupcakes and the “how-to” is on my Pinterest board entitles “Sweet Treats” in case you ever wanted to attempt it. 😉 On top of that, the blue-purple ones are entirely sugar free. I was busting with pride. They tasted horrible, but never mind.
It looks like a very fun party. And I love all the happy colors.
Happy birthday to your Spring girl.
So beautiful! Happy Spring!
Oh my happy. Happy Birthday to your sweet girl. Sigh. xoxo
Oh, I wish there was audio.
To here all those little high voices pitching away in French.
How I wish….
Lovely, J, so lovely. You are blessed.
Those cupcakes are gorgeous!!!
I love springtime.
Ahh, so sweet and beautiful! I love the hopefulness of spring when it snows and the blossoms on the tree hang on for dear life and somehow pull through. When the tulips pop forth their lovely heads and oh the daffodils. Here’s to a beautiful Spring in France.
I will be in France in November, first, Lyon on business with my husband and then we will end the trip in Paris for my b’day. I have never been there that time of year, so will be a new experience. Until then, reading and enjoying your blogs on the beauty there! 🙂
Beautiful, stunning, perfect.
(A little girl’s dream come true, yes?)
Way to go Mama, and happy birthday to your sweet girl!
Happy birthday and happy easter and all that jazz! Easter eggs bouncing on the ceiling and those cupcakes, good lord, I must come to France just for those cupcakes.
I feel like those balloons – all clustered together on the ceiling and colorful and happy.
Your post is a smile. But in words.
Jennie,
I love the starting quote. Lovely pictures and happy birthday to your daughter! 🙂
Jen
I’m sure I’ve sung those words. The cupcakes are the most beautiful I’ve ever seen.
What beautiful sentiments to commemorate a beautiful girl on her beautiful day. (And I join the list of commenters drooling over those cupcakes. Swoon!)
Happy birthday to your big little girl!
How exciting to be walked through your daughter’s birthday ~ the colors, the cupcakes, the treasures … great fun and sweet memories.
Beautiful. Start to finish. I love the gorgeous joy of a lovingly planned party!
What a wonderful, happy post! The flowers and food and happy faces!
