Ingredients
  • Hot chocolate:
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla
  • Topping:
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons mascarpone
  • ¼ heavy cream
  • ¼ teaspoon espresso powder
  • Optional:
  • lemon zest
  • 2 teaspoons rum
Instructions
  1. Whip the cream and add the zest of one lemon (if desired).
  2. Heat the milk, cocoa powder, vanilla and 1T sugar.
  3. Beat the yolk and sugar until it lightens in color, then add the mascarpone.
  4. When that's thoroughly mixed, add in the whipped cream.
  5. Strain the hot chocolate into 2 teacups.
  6. Add the topping.
  7. Sprinkle espresso powder on top using a small strainer to distribute.
