I have a giveaway that I’m so excited about. It’s the first one ever I didn’t actually have to pay for!
No I’m kidding. While that is true, I am excited for other reasons. I love to have giveaways so I can shower love on my readers.
Well … one reader.
And another thing – I am thrilled about this company in particular. It’s in association with National Geographic and it’s called Novica. You can find it right here.
It’s a website of fair trade items for sale, where artisans can showcase and sell their work to a much broader audience. In that way you can get unique, beautiful items at a reduced price (really great prices), and the artists can earn a better living for their family.
Hand-blown glasses from Mexico.
And with a personal note from the artisan! They like to keep personal relationships with their buyers.
I had no idea what I should get. I was tempted by the jewelry. Gorgeous, gorgeous stuff. But the truth is, I’m much less likely to spend money on articles for the house than I am for a pair of earrings, so I decided to use my gift certificate to get something lovely for the table.
So what I have for you is a chance to win a $50 gift certificate from this marvelous site. Remember that shipping will be in addition to any amount shown, and will depend on what is being shipped and where. The glasses were sent by Fedex, and were costly to send to France, so I had to pay a little over the gift certificate I was given. I didn’t have to pay customs fees, but I was warned that they are sometimes required.
To enter, please have a peek at the Novica website and leave a comment here to tell me what you would choose amongst the home decor, jewelry, apparel and paintings.
I know, I know. It’s so hard to decide.
And then, if you would do me a kindness, you could like my Facebook page or follow me on twitter (if you aren’t doing so already), and then tweet about this great company to help support artists around the world.
The winner will be chosen on Friday of next week.

Oh my… so many choices! My first thought is clothing because I like clothes and need some new ones because of the weight I’ve lost. But then I started looking at the paintings… and other decor…
