Love is several sleepless nights in a row because your children share everything (except their toys).
Love is putting down your fork and knife, after finally sitting down, with the delicious steak still in front of you because you hear the siren’s call: ”mamaaaaan – can you wipe my bum-bum.
I have diarrhea (replete with description).” The steak seems less appealing, somehow.
Love is cleaning up the sick on the stairs, on the couch, on the floor ….
Love is accepting a kick in the chest on the way to the bath because you know your feverish patient will be happier sweet-smelling than vomit-smelling.
Love is several loads of laundry a day.
Love is holding a hot crying child at 3am so they will throw up on you, because you are much easier to clean than the entire bed.
Love is canceling all offers to come play/help from friends and family to keep the proper quarantine.
Love is picking up the proffered bottle, bread, water, etc. from the floor because the patient is a finicky one.
Love is not always the envisioned lavender-scented romantic reunion with Sir Renaissance after his three-week absence.
“hi hon”
“oh – what happened here?”

Poor Mr. Welcome! Poor children! Poor mom!
Imagine how lonely you'd be without all that love?
Hoping the sick storm has passed!
The Empress says
Hope you're all better soon. It is miraculous, the stamina that the Lord has given to mothers.
Praying that you're enjoying good health soon. There is nothing like being sick to make you appreciate the gift of good health, isn't it?

This was so warm felt but at the same time funny. That is so much how they are. They will remember these times and think what a great mother I have.

I have been amazed, time and again, at the things I do for my child that I never dreamed I would. Things that before I would have cringed at even talk of it.
I hope everyone is feeling better now!
Hey, we'd like to feature you on BlogTrotting next Friday! Can you have a post ready?

This is generously and lovingly written. Beautiful! And it brought me back… and it's not a bad memory which is amazing. My girl was sick for nearly 2 weeks. Years ago. So I can look at it fondly. At least the smell is gone.

My family recently experienced this kind of LOVE during our family vacation in Florida with the in-laws. Five of the six persons staying in the two bedroom condo got a stomach bug. Lots and lots of love.

Oh my, I know it's hard when they get sick like that. My two went through one of the worse stomach flu awhile back. Thanks for the sharing your post.
