I’ve neglected all of your blogs because I don’t have two hours to rub together to actually go visit them, but we’re nearing the end of our US trip (we fly out tomorrow night) and then I’ll be back in your lives.
In the meantime I want to tell you just how much fun we’re having seeing all of our old friends in the New York City area.
We just picked up right where we left off
and got to know each other’s kids.
We saw our children become friends
and saw them grow to love our own friends.
This is Marc, by the way; he does voiceovers for a living. Kids love him.
Here he’s making up silly fortunes for each of them from their fortune cookies.
Deb and Sheridan, our adoptive aunt and uncle.
More friends …
Petit Prince, of course.
And then … we did the whole thing over again with some other friends.
(Young Lady seems to want to pose more – we’re not trying to show a preference here).
Did we really produce all these kids?
It is not easy to make friends in France, so I was drinking in these relationships.
None of us are alike – we all have somewhat different religious ideals, markedly different political ideals and wildly different personalities. But it’s so easy. The base is already there, as is the trust, so we can just be ourselves.
Seeing them again was like drinking from an oasis. It felt … rich.
This makes me happy!!
Quite a crowd you’ve got there. 🙂 Loved the pictures. Glad you had a great trip.
I so LOVED seeing you tooo!!!! What a treasure!!! And all of these kids……. safe voyage my dear, dear friend….
Had such a wonderful time with everyone getting time together. Thank you for sending us some pics!
So sad we are no longer in New York City. 🙁
Wish we could have seen you. Maybe this summer in France! 🙂
Seems like you are having a really wonderful trip. “The base is already there, as is the trust, so we can just be ourselves.” That really resonated with me. We haven’t moved, but most of our “base” has. I miss that feeling of being totally relaxed with people who already know and love me just as I am (more or less).
That just sounds so lovely! Rich, indeed 🙂 So glad you are having a wonderful time surrounded by wonderful friends 🙂
Happy New Year!
So so sweet! Refreshment for your soul I bet. So glad you,re having an amazing visit.
I love the feeling of just being yourself. Why is it we so rarely get to do that?
Safe travels back to La France!
Those we can be ourselves with are a treasure beyond measure. Such wealth, you’ve got me grinning ear to ear.
Friendship is such a blessing. I’m glad you have been having a wonderful visit with good friends!
Loved seeing Sue and her kids (easy to identify).
