This is a short post to say hi and pass on a thank you. I’ve heard from the HOPE School in Chennai, and they have a little message for you:
Thank you to everyone who contributed (and if you missed the post that talks about the HOPE School, you can see it by clicking here).
They said that the BrainQuest resource books are particularly helpful for the younger classes and sent a picture of everything you contributed so you can see what you purchased! 🙂
You guys are the best. Thank you SO much! It’s great to know those kids are going to have the materials that will contribute to their learning.
Otherwise, here’s some random news from our little French cottage:
First, it’s still in construction. We’ve heard back from Jesus (that’s our carpenter’s name, no joke) and he’s supposed to have signed some new deals that will allow him to pick up where he left off with us. He’s had some financial problems with his company and is desperately trying to stay afloat. But that piece of good news was last week and we haven’t heard back since. The whole thing has been a lesson in trust, faith, and patience.
Matthieu and I are going to be sharing at an upcoming marriage retreat about how sin is revealed in marriage and how to let the conflict bring you closer rather than driving you apart. Obviously, I’ll be sharing about my smashing the plate moment.
Today I skipped my aqua gym class to make these purely because I “needed” them:
But we’re eating this for dinner to compensate:
(I had a couple of shaky weeks with my nutrition plan after India and was doing better this week, but I keep reminding myself when I slip up that this eating healthy thing is a long-distance race, not a sprint. I suspect I’ve gained a little back of the 22 lbs I lost).
I’m still working on my next book, going through the whole rough draft for the first time. It’s still really raw, but fortunately I have some other eyes on it – people who are encouraging me as I go and giving excellent recommendations for its improvement.
And I still have loads of ideas for posts and need only the time to write them. Can you believe I’ve been blogging since 2009?
Until next week, friends!

Hi Jennie,
Just checking – two of the items I sent to the school are shown in the photo but the Bruno Stories (set of 6 Books) (Bruno Early Readers) Paperback – don’t seem to be there. I did get confirmation that they had been delivered. It’s not important that they were in the photo but just hoping that they did indeed arrive?
