Today is Wednesday, my favorite day of the week.
Most children in France don’t have school on Wednesdays so that allows time for us mothers to positively interact with our children. I like to do such activities as teaching them to read in English, arts and crafts, baking together, planting seeds.
So today I thought we’d start with some gardening.
Oh.
That is not a red conifer you see there. It’s a dead one. I wonder if the sweet plum tree further out will fare better.
Well, we can always sit on the patio and color since it’s such a nice day out.
Oh.
This is our chicken coop, by the way. I was pretty excited about the prospect of chickens – do you know how much free-range eggs cost?
But Sir Renaissance said everyone is perfectly welcome except the chickens. “We will not have a farm chez nous!”
So we all wandered around the garden aimlessly a bit… (Petit Prince has not found walking a worthwhile venture.)
before finally ending up at a mini parc where Petit Prince cloistered an unsuspecting toddler and used him as a tomato stake.
It was another satisfying Wednesday with the children at our little house in France.
At least there was no fire.

what lovely things to do with your children. My son keeps asking to plant seeds as I mentioned it was Spring now and time to plant. I am not really a gardner, but now he's saying it I am quite looking forward to seeding with him. I'm more able to do it now that I am working more from home too – I really appreciate this 🙂
I look forward to making a dreamsetting kit for you!

Oh Amelia – you're so sweet. Your purity comes through.
I, unfortunately, was being heavily tongue-in-cheek. Wednesdays are actually a disaster for me! :o)

Funny! It's nice to see a photo of Peanut. Loved the part about him using an unsuspecting toddler as a tomato stake.
I'm jealous that your children have no school on Wednesdays. I would love a mid-week break from the routine. How long is their school day? I'm assuming that our children have a similar amount of school time over the course of the year, with the time just broken up differently.

No school on Wednesdays! What?! That is wonderful. They have something to look forward to in spending time with their mommy and daddy. And yes, it's great that all was calm….as I know things can get hectic for you.
